Welcome, I’m Nicole.

I empower women to seek optimal health using the most powerful strategies from functional nutrition, mental health counseling, and western medicine.

Why do I do what I do?
To be blunt, because women seeking healthcare often get dismissed or gaslit when their symptoms are persistent, cyclical, or complex. We deserve better.

I’ve experienced this first-hand for most of my life. As a small child, I was plagued by chronic skin conditions and recurring strep throat. As a teen I struggled with amenorrhea as a result of a severe eating disorder. In my mid 20s I developed a set of mysterious symptoms including allergies, GERD and IBS symptoms, painful periods, and chronic fatigue.

Along the way I was given birth control pills, anxiety and depression medications, and even told that some of my debilitating symptoms were all in my head.

It took years of research, education, and a stroke of luck in finding the right provider, but I was eventually diagnosed with CIRS (chronic inflammatory response syndrome), a condition in which the immune system becomes overly sensitive to compounds such as mold toxins, VOCs, environmental allergens, and medications. Suddenly my symptoms made sense and I was able to take control of my health and begin to heal.

But I know there are millions of women still searching for answers, and I’m here to help them.

Methods
My education began in counseling psychology, a discipline that provides a framework for creating healing in the context of relationships. As a counselor I learned of the true therapeutic value of being present with another human, acknowledging their struggles, and celebrating their worthiness. For this reason, a guiding philosophy of my work is the cultivation of a healthy client-practitioner relationship. I strive to support you through the challenging process of building your health, while encouraging you to embrace autonomy as you see fit.

Perspective
Later, training in functional and holistic nutrition deepened my appreciation for the innate wisdom of human biology and the reciprocity between people and the environment. Food is an essential tool in the toolkit of a functional nutritionist, and yet, it cannot be successfully applied in the absence of foundational health or in a vacuum that ignores culture, family, or environment. As such, you’ll see that diet represents an important portion of our work together, with equal importance paid to relationships, emotional health, and energetic balance.

Goals
I’ve explored countless healing modalities ranging from conventional and functional medical treatment, to naturopathic and Chinese medicine, bodywork, energy therapy, mental health counseling, hypnotherapy, and meditation. My serial visits with dozens of highly skilled practitioners improved my health somewhat, but more importantly helped me identify an important pattern. Disintegration. Despite the brilliance of these practitioners, they were unfamiliar with treatments beyond their specialty. Without acknowledging the variety of factors influencing my health, they couldn’t help me connect the dots, and I was left floundering. Indeed, my health did not begin to improve until I began working with a dear friend and colleague, another nutritionist, who encouraged me to address all aspects of my health: physical, emotional, and energetic.

My goal became clear, to create a system of healthcare that is organized around addressing the whole person, and that’s what I’ve built at Revolution Women’s Health. This is the foundation of my clinical perspective: we are complex beings and true health demands acknowledgement thus.

Never stop learning
In service of creating a more deeply integrated model of care, I am currently training as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner through the Yale School of Nursing in New Haven, CT. This will allow me to serve you with the most effective combination of medical and holistic therapies to build optimal health.

I’m glad you’re here.
